Western Riverside Waste Authority (WRWA) is the statutory body, or local authority, responsible for the management of the waste delivered to it by:
- London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham
- London Borough of Lambeth
- London Borough of Wandsworth; and the
- Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Waste Transfer Stations
Cory Environmental Ltd, the Authority’s Waste Management Services Contractor, operate two waste transfer stations situated on the River Thames in South London; one in Wandsworth and the other in Battersea.
Household Reuse and Recycling Centres
We also run Household Reuse and Recycling Centres (or public tips) at the waste transfer station sites. These may be used by residents of the four boroughs, as well as residents of the City of Westminster. Residents of the London Borough of Lambeth who want to recycle items may also use its Reuse and Recycling Centre in Vale Street.
This Interactive Map gives information of similar sites elsewhere in the London area.
Western Riverside Environmental Fund (WREF)
WREF is a partnership between the Western Riverside Waste Authority and Groundwork UK. The fund uses landfill tax credits - contributed by Cory Environmental - to promote environmental improvements and sustainable waste management in the region.
