Reuse Workshop

Reuse Workshop

A local repair service for good quality reusable items. Rework will save 1,200 tonnes of material from being thrown away every year!

Rework is a reuse workshop which will see hundreds of repairable items fixed up and sold on.

You are able to phone a reuse hotline and get your old sofa or washing machine collected from your home and delivered either to the workshop for repair, or to a storage depot for resale. There will be a fee for the service, but it will be no more than booking a bulky waste collection from your council. Click here for further details.

The workshop will accept the following items in good cosmetic condition or in a repairable state:

  • Home furniture (e.g. beds, sofas, tables, chairs, cupboards and drawers)
  • Large appliances (e.g. fridges, washing machines, tumble driers and cookers)
  • Bicycles
  • Televisions and Monitors (Flat Screen only)

You can also drop off your items at the Smugglers Way Reuse and Recycling Centre, where Rework is based.

Social benefits

Rework provides work experience to local unemployed people. The items received are passed on to various London charities for resale.

So how does it work?
