Charity shops sell second-hand goods which would otherwise end up in landfill sites. Anything that can’t be sold is recycled if possible.

Why not sell or donate unwanted items to a charity shop?

Clothes, furnishings, crockery, CDs and DVDs are just some of the items accepted by the hundreds of charity shops across London.

Also keep an eye out for charity’s door-to-door clothes and textiles collections. They usually post a plastic sack through your letterbox and provide you with a collection date.

All items you donate should be clean and in good condition.
