As part of the Love Food Hate Waste campaign, we ran a series of community workshops and events in the autumn of 2010 to show people how to reduce food waste.
Many people we spoke to at the events were sure they didn't waste any food.
We put that to the test and produced a food waste diary to help people to record how much food they throw away each day and why.
Common reasons were that people prepare too much food and that it’s not stored properly and goes mouldy before it can be used. On the back of the diary are some tips on ways to reduce food waste.
Download a food waste diary and try it for yourself.
Lambeth College had a Go Green Day event that we did activities at. One of which was smoothie making. We worked with the canteen to showcase their excellent work on food waste minimisation and gave students some practical examples and inspiration from their own lunches.
