Delivering recycling to a Materials Recovery facility.
After your recycling is collected it is taken to a Materials Recovery Facility to be sorted. The separated materials are then taken to reprocessing plants to be turned into new products.
All waste that cannot be recycled is taken to a waste transfer station where it is bulked and loaded onto barge containers to transport it up the Thames to the landfill site at Mucking in Essex.
