Getting started

Anyone can compost even if you don't have a garden. A wormery or bokashi bucket can work just as well.

There are several ways you can compost your organic waste:

  • Kitchen waste
    • You can compost some of your kitchen waste, including fruit and vegetable peelings and tea bags, using your home composter. See How to compost.
    • If you don’t have a garden you can still compost your kitchen waste by using a wormery or bokashi bucket. This will turn your leftovers into nourishing soil conditioner. Try www.wormcity.co.uk for more information.
    • Your local council may provide other options. Check your local council website
