Transform the environment this Recycle Now Week

30 May 2007

This Recycle Now Week (2 - 9 June), Recycle Western Riverside will urge residents in south and west London to transform their lives and the world around them, by making a long-term commitment to recycle.

Sam Jarvis, RWR campaign manager, explains: "During Recycle Now Week our team will hit the streets to encourage everyone to reduce their impact on the environment simply by recycling their household rubbish. We'll explain to residents that they can give rubbish a future by turning it into something completely new and useful."

TV babe and star of the smash BBC TV show 'Any dream will do', Denise Van Outen, is backing this year's Recycle Now Week and has offered some simple advice for households. She said: "We all know that green is the new black, so I hope everyone in south and west London will get involved in Recycle Now Week."

The RWR team will be touring south and west London to explain how it easy it is for everyone to do their bit and to show residents how their everyday household rubbish can be transformed into an amazing array of products.

Sam said: "It's fascinating to discover what our rubbish can come back as. Plastic bottles can be recycled into new bottles, but recycled plastic can also be used to make a whole host of things including; plastic bin liners, flooring, fencing, garden furniture, fleeces and even filling for duvets."

The RWR team will also encourage kids to get into the recycling habit and will visit schools to show children how they can transform kitchen waste into compost and scrap paper into new paper.
Interesting Facts
