David Barwick with his prize.

Battersea resident wins £600 bike!

26 August 2005

Local resident David Barwick, a Fitness First Centre Manager from Battersea, Wandsworth, has ridden away with £600 worth of bike vouchers courtesy of Recycle Western Riverside.

The competition required residents to use the RWR website to find the answers to five questions on recycling and the work of the campaign.

David Barwick said: “Winning the bike vouchers has really brightened up my week! It’s a fantastic prize and my intention is to start cycling to work rather than getting the train. While looking for the answers on the Recycle Western Riverside website, I realised what a great website it is, with a huge amount of really useful  information on recycling for residents.”

The competition proved extremely popular with over 300 entries from across the four London boroughs in the Recycle Western Riverside campaign area; Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth and Wandsworth. David answered all five questions correctly and was picked at random to ride off with the prize.

Jim Fielder, Strategic Campaign Manager for Recycle Western Riverside, said: “The Bike competition has been a great success with so many people taking part to win a fantastic prize. Congratulations to David who has clearly gained a greater understanding of recycling in Wandsworth and beyond.”
