As a part of the European Waste Reduction Week (19 – 26 November) Recycle Western Riverside will be out in the local community showing residents how they can use the food they usually throw away to cook delicious meals and save money.
The Love Food Hate Waste campaign estimates that households in the United Kingdom throw away 7.2 million tonnes of food every year, costing the average family with children £680 a year, over £50 a month.
If you would like to learn some practical ways to reduce your food waste and save money, then why not come a long to one of our cooking demonstrations. We will provide you free advice and tools to help you cut down on the amount of food you waste. This includes rice measurers, bag clips, recipe cards and meal planners, along with suggestions on how to make sure portion sizes are judged correctly and tip on tasty recipes for leftovers.
