VHS tapes is just one example of the new materials accepted at Lambeth's Reuse and Recycling Centre

    Lambeths residents can now recylde even more material at the borough's recycling centre.

    Carpets, VHS tape, window glass and energy saving and incandescents light bulbs are just some of the new materials accepted at the Lambeth Reuse and Recycling Centre in Vale Street, West Norwood.

    The site also now accepts unwanted or broken gardening tools. The council donates these to a project called Tools Shed, which refurbishes then at a workshop in Wandsworth Prison and redistribures them to community gardeing groups and schools. The other new items accepted are mobile phones, bikes, spectacles and rigid plastics such as buckets and garden furniture.
