Time of Your Life event in Hammersmith and Fulham

30th September, 2011

Older residents of the borough were invited to Hammersmith Town Hall in King Street for a packed day of fun that included line dancing, a gardening workshop and a Jazz band. The day also provided information about recycling, highlighting the recent changes to materials that can and cannot be recycled in the borough.

The Recycle Westerm Riverside team were on hand to give information on the new materials that can now be recycled such as plastic tubes and aerosols. The organisation also provided advice on how to reduce the contamination of recycling by rinsing out tins, bottles and tubs before putting them in the new orange plastic bags. New changes to recycling means that shredded paper, cannot be put into the bags, but instead can be composted in your garden. Electricals (anything with a plug or batteries) can be taken to the Reuse and Recycling Centre located at Smugglers Way, SW18 1JS.
